Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks its own tissues. In multiple sclerosis the autoimmune response destroys the myelin sheath that insulates nerve fibres in the brain and spinal cord. In MS, the resulting nerve damage disrupts communication between the brain and the body.
Multiple sclerosis causes many different symptoms, including vision loss, pain, fatigue and impaired coordination. The symptoms, severity and duration can vary from person to person. Some people may be symptom free for most of their lives, while others can have severe, chronic symptoms.
MLD treatment focuses on the localised area of the clinical symptoms to provide an oedema-reducing effect on micro-oedema. Occasional whole-body treatments are recommended due to the overall relaxing effect of manual lymph drainage
